My real estate career
began in 1987 at Knowlton Realty, a firm renowned for its
comprehensive training program. In two-plus decades since, I have
developed a business approach that embraces three ideals: i) zealously
promote the interests of the client; ii) pursue creative solutions; and
iii) expand real estate and business competence. I have a Masters in
Business Administration from The Richard Ivey School of Business.
I have been fortunate to
represent many notable corporations, McKinsey & Company, Mead
Corporation, Hilroy Canada, Dow Jones/Wall Street Journal and Quest
Software, among others. For twenty years I have exclusively represented
a Canadian and US real estate partnership in the leasing of their
1/2 million sf Downtown Toronto office project, this long term
relationship being a by-product of my approach and the results
delivered. Among achievements for my clients I am most proud of the
following:
Leveraged a meeting on a
train from Budapest to Prague into the assignment to lease 177
Lakeshore Boulevard East and eliminated 56,000 square feet of office
vacancy in seven weeks -- after a major competitor had failed to
generate any serious activity for the space over the previous six
months.
McKinsey & Company, the
premier global management consulting firm, retaining me to craft a
ground-breaking private/institutional real estate partnerships to
develop McKinsey’s 60,000 sf head office on Charles Street in
Toronto’s U of T Quarter.
Being chosen by Studley
Inc., the leading Tenant Representation firm in the United States, to
act for their clients in Canada.
Recommending a no-go
strategy for Towers Perrin, the leading Human Resource consultants,
that resulted in seven-figure savings for Towers Perrin Montreal
office.
With Laurence Himel,
launched the Canadian operations of LaSalle Partners in 1997 (now
Jones Lang LaSalle NYSE:JLL).
